ABOUT GREYSTONE LODGE
Greystone Lodge is located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain next to the Wizard Express and Magic Chair lifts. A boutique style condo complex with only 50 units makes Greystone Lodge one of the smaller vacation rental locations in the Benchlands neighbourhood in Whistler. Large open living spaces are unique to Greystone Lodge creating a true home away from home. The fourty foot windows of the lofted units gives Greystone Lodge its stunning appearance for passer’s by and great mountain views for the guests that occupy them.
GREYSTONE LODGE AMENITIES
For relaxation and convenience guests of Greystone Lodge will find an outdoor heated pool and hot tub along with an indoor hot tub, showers, and common area washrooms. There is a coin operated laundry facility in the building as well as a vending machine for quick snacks. Free wireless internet is located throughout the building for those guests who need to stay connected. Unique to Greystone Lodge is free underground parking, something hard to come by in Whistler. Guests should be warned that the underground parking has a total height limit of 6 feet 8 inches. Large SUV’s with ski racks may not fit in the underground and there is very limited over-height parking at the lodge.
Within a very short walking distance guests will find ski school, ski and snowboard rentals, bike rentals, restaurants, a liquor store, a small grocery store and various retail outlets. The walk to the main Whistler Village will take around 7-10 minutes on foot, however, a village transit bus comes every 7 minutes in the Winter and every 15 minutes during the other months. The bus stop is just a short stroll from the lobby.
OTHER ACTIVITIES IN WHISTLER
Golfers can enjoy the Chateau Whistler Golf Course, one of the finest golf courses in British Columbia, just a short walk from the lodge. Spas are located throughout Whistler Resort for those looking for extra help in relaxing. Lost Lake Park is located only minutes from the Greystone Lodge where guests will find great hiking, picnicking, swimming and fishing in the summer months and Nordic ski trails in the winter. The base of Blackcomb turns into a children’s paradise in the summer when it is converted into a giant playground hosting horseback riding, a climbing wall, various rides and amusements, mini-golf, and more. In addition, on summer weekends visitors can frequent the Whistler Farmer’s Market finding locally made crafts and foods also located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain.
We have stayed on the Benchlands before so knew the location and like it. The Greystone lodge however is a bit worn. The outdoor hot tub is tiny and only fits 6 or so at a time. Pool on the small side too. The kitchen had decent quality pots and pans, but the fan is worthless so cooking in the oven risks setting off the smoke alarm. Beds were comfortable. But the unit is small for sleeping 6 people. A couple light bulbs were out too
reservation agent said the path to the Village was all paved, yet we walked down ski run which is a bit dangerous and after that, path was never cleared of snow or slush. that should be pointed out. once i got past location and fact that you walk down ski run, location was okay. in general the room was clean and nice but lots of things weren't working which you had to get fixed and some we didn't raise -- no salt/pepper, light bulbs out and batteries dead, fan switch in bathroom shorted out and wouldn't turn off. not enough robes for people. the place should go through a better checklist btwn guests to ensure things are working as most of time no one at front desk to inform of issues. and this puts onus on guest to be a whiner to get things fixed
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. Yes the ski out to the run is not shoveled as then you could not ski out. There is the option to take the village shuttle if you find the hill to snowy. the shuttle is located on Spearhead Drive just off the Greystone Lodge property. Our bathroom fans are attached to a humidistat. This must be turned off to have the fan turn off. The humidistat is on to prevent moisture build up in the unit. As for the lights, all the lights work but some are operated by both the lamp and the light switch. If the lamp is off and you flick the switch it will not turn on. The lamp will also not turn on if the switch is off. We have checked the lights and this was the case. On our check list, batteries and lights are at the top of the list. We have staff at the front desk who could have addressed all of these issues. Next time please come by and ask and we will be happy to help! -All the best -Clint Goyette @ Acer Vacations
Nice stay in Whistler!!
Thank you for your review. All the best -Clint Goyette @ Acer Vacations
It was a good size for a family of 5. There were some little things that could have made it better. There was almost a musty oder every time we walked in the condo. The door stops were broken, there was no shower caddy or any place to put the soap and shampoo in the small shower. It advertises ski-in ski out, but is so flat, it is more like walk in walk out. But overall it was nice. I would recommend the property but maybe not that particular condo.
Thank you for your feedback. We will pass it on to the owner for their review and consideration for improvements. -All the best -Clint Goyette @ Acer Vacations
The suite was ideally set up for a family of 5 with several guests rotating in and out throughout the week. The pool was one of the best kept I ever experienced, the kids and I loved it. Access to the ski run easy.
Thank you for your review and I will pass on your note about the pool to the caretaker. See you again soon. All the best -Clint Goyette
Overall, a very lovely ski condo. Ski in, ski out, lots of room, very helpful building staff.... All in all, terrific. One small negative note: several small conveniences were absent. For example, there was no shelf or holder of any kind for soap and shampoo in the stall shower...which rendered it pretty unusable.
Thank you for your review. We will install a shower caddy! All the best -Clint Goyette
The apartment was great, clean, and with plenty of space! All the utensils you would need are already there, no need to worry!
We are happy you enjoyed your stay with us. See you again. All the best -Clint Goyette
Well maintained unit with garage parking. I would defiantly stay here again.
Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed the free parking. -All the best Clint Goyette
This property is very well located within the upper village. Just steps from the run to the Blackcomb base and lifts. Very clean and well mantained. Property managers are very professional and follow up on your stay since the moment of booking. Bedding and furniture are very comfortable. Our family (2 adults, 3 children) stayed there for 3 nights and we loved it.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us! All the best -Clint Goyette
A good location for our ski holiday and we enjoyed to walk into Whistler in the evenings. The staff were friendly and helpful and I thought the unit was good value for money.
Thank you for your review! We look forward to your return visit! -All the best -Clint Goyette
Was there management? We never saw anyone other than other ppl staying at the property, never did figure out how to get into parking garage, lucky for us we had rented a second property that could sleep 12 and we ended up sleeping all 14 of us at the other property rather than split up and make some ppl stay at this place!
Dear Guest, We are not sure where you you stayed but it could not have been at Greystone Lodge. We have front desk staff and a full housekeeping department on site. I personally spoke to several of your companions who seemed to be enjoying the stay. The front desk is operated from 8:30am through to 11am and 3pm through to 6pm daily. Housekeeping is on site from 8am-4:30pm. In addition, strata maintenance is also on site throughout the day. If you have difficulty on site, it was not brought to our attention. The unit you rented can easily sleep 6 individuals and 8 if there are children. Sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. -All the best -Clint Goyette
